Baa Bar on Tuesday

Hello! There’s an exciting gig at Baa Bar, Fallowfield on Tuesday. It’s being put on by Silent Sara, in aid of the Red Cross.

The lineup is looking really good – it features seven acts, including Karima Francis, Kristyna Myles, Glyn Bailey, Robin Mukherjee, Risa Hall and Pavor Nocturnus. I’ll be playing a couple of songs too.

I think entry is by donation, 3 or 4 quid. Should be a really nice night. Things kick off promptly at 8pm…

Acoustic Eclectic is a lovely acoustic night at the Q-Inn in Stalybridge. I’m playing there tomorrow evening (Wednesday, 25th November). It’s a free night (donations welcomed). There’s an open mic beforehand, and I’d really recommend it as a place to play. Lovely friendly, audience, nice beers – a good night!

Hi all you Facebookers! I’ve begun addiing notes from my blog directly onto Facebook… so if you just saw a load of notes from me in your news streams, then that’s why!

On another note – I’ve just created a Facebook Musician Page. More info will be added on that soon.

And finally – I’m running an event tomorrow (Thursday) at St. Ninian’s church in Chorlton. We have five excellent bands playing: To Sophia, Sam and the Plants, Pablo’s Finest Hour, Kamal Arafa and Butler Williams. It starts at 7.30pm and is £4 on the door.

Undergrowth Collective

Been working on a very exciting new collective / series of events, in association with For Folk’s Sake, Songs for the Bath Tub, and the Hobop collecitve: It’s called the Undergrowth Collective.

I’ll post the full press release shortly. We’ve got a Twitter Feed set up for the collective too. The next event will be the Hoboparty at Cup (Manchester) on 23rd March – with a lineup that includes Kreg Viesselman and DJs from the Brute Chorus. All very exciting. More details shortly…

I’m not actually playing at this one, but I thought I’d give you the heads-up about a gig at the Carlton Club tonight (Thursday 31st January) that I’m involved with. We’ve got Lisa Redford, Samson and Delilah, Laienda (Bristol), and Paul Oska. It starts from 8pm tonight, is £3 on the door, and goes till 11.30pm…. Beer is £1.85 a pint and wine is £1.25 a glass. Nice!

Manchester International Festival – and an alternative

The Manchester International Festival runs from 28th June to 15th July in Manchester. It features a range of events, from dance, through art to Music.

Brand new this year is a completely unofficial, alternative fringe event. It hosts over 50 gigs, art exhibitions and other events. We’re running a special Songs for the Bath Tub event at Trof in the Northern Quarter. And I’m being interviewed and doing a live set on Manchester’s all fm on monday 9th July, 3-4pm.
