Saturday, January 6th, 2007

Hi… I’m posting the lyrics to Sometimes these words because a few people have asked for them. Thanks for liking it!

Sometimes these Words

Sometimes these words,
Lose their meaning,
And the the sound of your voice,
Has got me dreaming,
It’s all I hear now,
And it’s all,
Lie here now,

Coz I need the stars to guide me
To follow myself
You swallowed everything
Became someone else

My daydreams took me
Across the grass
And your eyes weren’t focussed,
You’d had a laugh
Little one, you think you’re flying
But you’re on my shoulders, age of nine
And daydreams trick me,
All the time,
I thought you’d never
Learn to cry

And everyone else will walk away
You are not yourself
I’m angry at you,
Coz you don’t care
You’re mean to yourself

I wake up sometimes
But you’re still asleep
Dream of sunrise
And all is sweet,
Little one,
Don’t give up
On breathing slowly,
On growing up

Janey’s eyes are glistening,
Crying with the beauty of it all,
But her beauty hides
Behind wide eyes
And I’m tired of this all

Amazon Web Services Blog: S3 Infinidisk for EC2

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

Very interested in using S3 Infinidisk for EC2 to load in data on demand from S3. We use S3 as a backup for several big websites. Loading that into an EC2 backup server takes hours – so this solution might enable us to have an EC2 backup instance up and running in a few minutes, if we needed it.

Not sure about the lack of caching though — presume this means having to retrieve data from S3 each time it’s accessed, which is sloooow.
