Here’s an RSS photo feed of the Spring Small World Festival.
Went to a slightly shambolic reggae festival in Platt Fields park, Manchester, on Saturday. With the festival staring over 3 hours late, most performers ended up only being on stage for a couple of songs. And quality was variable… I also almost narowly escape food-poising from a piece of jerk-chicken, but counter-acted it by drinking an evil-tasting concoction of Jamaican spinach… hmmmm…
Whilst looking at upcoming events in Manchester, I stumbled upone this page. They’re doing a gig in a swimming pool in Manchester soon. The music looks and sounds bizarre…. does anyone know whether it’s genuine??
Come to the Tiger Lounge, Sunday 2nd July, for an evening of acoustic music:
Jarvis Cocker did a wee little dj set at Mint Lounge in Manchester tonight. It was much fun indeed… completely sold out, but I did manage to slip in at the last minute and had a thoroughly entertaining evening! He played some good tunes too.. arcane, and nothing well-and-truely-stomping, but still a good and varied evening..
For a really good and slightly quirky take on what’s going on in the Manchester music scene… and in fact the indie music thingummybob in general, check out The Indie Credential…
Time for some more musical recommendations… this time a London-based band I seem to keep running into. Their music is intense, but excellent. Well worth going to see if you have the chance. Their myspace page contains a selection of music
There’s a lot of random photos we’re putting up from music events, festivals and stuff… they can be found at this section of the site
The next Manchester gig I’m playing is on Tuesday June 27th, downstairs at the Dry Bar… it’s a laid-back acoustic evening, cheap entry. Should be fun!
Hello! Just a quick note to say I’m back in Manchester after a lovely few days in Elba, Italy. Got some interesting-looking gigs lined up for the next few months. There’s an up-to-date gig list at myspace.com/tomkerswill, and I’ll get a list of dates on this site ASAP!
See you soon
Tom
There’s a useful bit of software for musicians who use myspace – it can be found at Myspace controller – it lets you view a complete list of your myspace friends, which is quite handy!
