Hey hey! I’m scribbling this from the train to Newcastle. Had to get up ridiculously early this morning (for me, anyway – 6am. And it was dark outside still…) Now it’s shaping up to be a beautiful day, and the sun is shining on the Peak District. I’m looking forward to recording some of the new stuff in a big hall in Newcastle. When it’s mixed – all being well – we’ll put some of it up on the site…
Been a good week so far. I’ve begun working with flute-player Alice Burke, and we’re hoping to begin playing in Manchester soon. Last night we headed to Matt and Phred’s (yes, it really is spelt like that) for the jazz jam night (to watch, rather than play!) and tonight, I headed to Chorlton for the Iguanna bar open mic, and saw some great music.
Tomorrow, bright and early, I head off to Newcastle to do recording for two days. By the end of that I should have 3 songs recorded. And the recordings should be representative of what I’m doing live. You’ll hear them here first!
