hi tom,
just wanted to say your site is very useful and informative.
You obviously know your stuff about the manchester live music scene, and was hoping you might be able to help us out with a bit of info. We are a new band, who as yet, haven’t managed to get a gig. we have just added a new singer and drummer, but we wanted to road test our stuff at a few open mic nights somewhere before we go down a full-on drums and loud guitars route. i was hoping you could recommend somewhere for us to get up and do a few songs? the only drawback potentially is that we haven’t all got acoustic instruments, so maybe somewhere we can just run guitars/bass/keys thru a PA?
hope you can help,
thanks a million,
James (The Satellite Towns)

Hi James
Good to hear from you. I think that the Trof night is usually pretty good – though it does get busy. Also I’d recommend Fuel… both good, easy-going nights — and both have PAs that should suit your needs
Both those nights are listed here – plus I’ve mentioned a few others in Manchester:
